Unlike most designers who have signature motifs in their
designs or look to muses for inspiration, but that isn’t the case with Gert Johan
Coetzee. At this year’s South African Fashion Week he decided to go with the
theme of breast cancer (only fitting as it is breast cancer month!). Obviously
the entire collection was pink! And it featured some of the most loved stars
often associated with the GJC brand such as the gorgeous Lalla Hirayama, Dineo
Moeketsi, Thembi Seete and of course Queen B! (Who actually wore a crown and
got to sit down). What I loved about the show was that it was in the form of an
installation, way different than what everybody else did.
